Marine Unit

Located along the shoreline of Old Tampa Bay and bordering Bayboro Harbor, the University 麻豆视频 St. Petersburg campus provides a unique setting for the USF Police Department鈥檚 Marine Unit. For over 25 years, USFPD has been actively patrolling its jurisdictional waters of Hillsborough River and Tampa Bay, supporting both campus safety and regional law enforcement operations.

The Marine Unit is based out of the Tampa campus and is led by the department鈥檚 Special Operations Captain, a Lieutenant, and a Sergeant. The team is preparing to launch its newest vessel鈥攁 21-foot 2025 Carolina Skiff鈥攅quipped to enhance maritime patrol, response, and interagency support.

Given the university鈥檚 coastal location, the Marine Unit frequently assists local partners, including the Temple Terrace Police Department and Tampa Police Department. The unit plays a vital role in major citywide events, such as holiday weekends and the City of Tampa鈥檚 iconic Gasparilla Parade, where marine safety and coordination are essential.
